Valerie Rodriguez

Instructor

Valerie Rodriguez is from North Carolina where she started training at the age of three right here at Studio Five Dance Company. Throughout her years, she has studied various dance styles such as tap, jazz, ballet, modern, contemporary, lyrical and clogging. In 2013, she was given her first opportunity to perform in Disney Springs, Orlando, FL with her dance company as well as attend workshops led by Disney cast members. Since then, she has performed at Disney Springs two other times. In 2019, she was a performer in the 93rd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade with Spirit of America. Valerie has attended many conventions such as NYCDA, Velocity, Revive, Showstoppers, and many competitions where she has won various awards. She has been able to work with choreographers such as Cory Morgan, Kacy Lee, and Jake Tribus. At the age of 14, she began Studio Five’s Apprentice Program where she developed her love for teaching dance to others. Through this apprenticeship, she also learned invaluable lessons from the seasoned Studio Five leadership team such as time management, classroom management, and becoming a strong role model to young dancers. Valerie currently attends Wake-Tech Community College where she will earn her Associates in Science. Along with Wake-Tech, she attends classes at Meredith College where she is working towards a double minor in Dance and Sports Science. Her plan is to transfer to N.C. State University and major in Business. She hopes to one day open a dance studio of her own or work as a Physical Therapist.
